Brandon Crawford is a criminal defence lawyer with Foord & Associates. He diligently represents clients charged with all offences in Ottawa and across Ontario. Brandon brings diverse experience, an innovative approach and a tireless work ethic to each case to consistently achieve favorable results for his clients.
After completing an Honour’s Degree in Criminology at the University of Ottawa, Brandon attended Michigan State University College of Law and University of Ottawa Faculty of Law, earning two Juris Doctor Degrees.
While in law school Brandon was the recipient of several academic awards, which included receiving recognition as the highest achieving student, making the Dean’s List multiple times, graduating with distinction, and receiving a merit scholarship in each year of attendance.
Brandon’s passion for criminal law and for defending the rights of his clients led him to the Michigan Public Defender’s office in 2012. While there, he successfully represented individuals charged with the most serious offences at the bail and preliminary hearing stages.
Upon returning to Canada, Brandon worked on Parliament Hill as a policy advisor for an Honourable Senator. He wrote speeches, analyzed an array of criminal legislation for compliance with the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and provided strategic advice for policy formation.
Brandon articled with the firm Foord Davies LLP after graduating and joined as an associate following his call to the bar. Since that time he has routinely achieved acquittals, successful Charter Remedies and favourable resolutions for adult and youth clients at all levels of court in Ontario. Brandon also teaches Trial Advocacy at the University of Ottawa Law School.
He is currently a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, Defence Counsel Association of Ottawa and the Criminal Lawyers’ Association.
